There’s really nothing quite as cool as the free-spirited creativity of kids. Caine, a 9 year old boy, built an extensive cardboard arcade he calls Caine’s Arcade. This video shows what happened when one person found it interesting and decided to share. Very inspiring stuff.

That was the day this all started. It feels like just yesterday that Travis (the original co-founder) and I walked into my boss’s office and handed over our 2 week notices, complete with smiles we couldn’t wipe off our faces. And to think we started it all out of a spare bedroom with roughly $500 in the company bank account. What a ride this has been.
There isn’t a book that teaches you exactly how to start a business, deal with the ups and downs, and reach for “success,” whatever that means. You just have to go for it. Running a business is scary, but like any risk in life, extremely exciting and often very rewarding. To be honest, we’ve faced issues that almost led us to closing our doors and moving on to new things, saying goodbye to the great risk that is entrepreneurialism. But something told us to keep going, to try harder, to deal with it and move forward. The decision to not give up has been one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life.
I don’t know what the future holds for us but that’s the exciting part. What I do know is that a handful of people have been influential in getting us to the place we are now and working with us to go even further. To my team, our clients, our friends, and our ever-curious family, we couldn’t have done it without you.
Thanks, a million times over.

This is hands down one of the most inspiring talks I’ve ever seen. In other words, this dude killed it. Wilson reminds us to think about the future we’re designing because we’ll have to live in it someday. Set aside 40 minutes and get inspired. I sure did.
Warning: Feelings of regret that you didn’t get to see it in person are imminent.

If you haven’t seen this video yet, you were bound to. Walk off the Earth covered Gotye’s Somebody That I Used to Know and absolutely killed it. With technology everywhere these days, it’s nice to see a band boost their awareness in a way that is downright impressive.
Here is Gotye’s original:

BERG has done it again. The Little Printer, releasing this year, is by far one of the coolest ideas I have seen in a while.

My single biggest inspirations are outer space and planetary science. This video should help show you why.

Yesterday, a tweet came across my feed that mentioned a new article by FastCoDesign.com. As you can see in this post’s title, it pinged both the designer and entrepreneur within me. After reading, I had to share it. The article expresses the importance of designers and design thinking in the world of business.

We’ve been going through a lot of changes as a team lately. We’re focused on improving the quality of our products while also heightening the experience for our clients. However, it made sense to take a step back and ask ourselves what we’re missing. How can we be inspired to be better? To do more? To be excited and proud of our company?
Third Thursday means setting aside one day every month to spend time on our company and the brand we’ve worked hard to build. No client meetings and no client deadlines.Doing what we do for our clients but for ourselves. Since we’ve recently moved into a new office, our first few will focus on improving our workspace. But we’ll also use them to write blog posts, update our portfolio, further brand ourselves, post to Dribbble, spruce up all of our company touchpoints, get the finances in order, you name it. There are really only a few rules… No client meetings and no client deadlines.
Whether for inspiration, comedic relief, to keep up with friends or to find new bands to check out, here's a list of sites we frequent on the reg:
